Your Song

What is your song?
The note that stirs in your heart
That dances upon your lips
That echoes through the fields as a rock skipping on water
Your soul calls you to share this truth
As your spirit delights in telling it
It’s the song that sets you aglow
Witnessed as a starlit wonder
The earth calls you to sing the song…
The one that harmonizes with the mountain winds
As the trees perk their ears
And dance to the vibrations
You know the song
Be it a soft, breathy melody
Or a rumbling, booming rhythm
It’s the story your heart longs to tell
It’s yours alone
The drum does not ask for a bow
Nor does the violin long for a reed
And yet - when you sing YOUR song
You find the one you seek
As you delight in being part of the whole
The resonant symphony
Sing your song, your call
To protect the earth and the innocent
To love with an open heart
To create a path to liberation
You feel it in your bones
A spark in your heart
Feeling the truth of these words

That's so beautiful, Cheryl! Thank you for reading and for sharing. xoxo
Thoughtful and thoughtfulfilling. Thank you for the truth of words and words of truth.
Your words, "The earth calls you to sing the song" struck a cord with me. When a particular stanza in my experience feels difficult to me, I think of the bible verse, "And the earth helped the woman." I also pick up my violin and play, even if I play warm up scales, since, as you remind me, I can feel it in my bones.
May we all keep singing!
