I Can Just Tell You

I can just tell you

That we’re all the same

I don’t have to show you

With colors that bend the mind

Or untangle the lies

That hide your inner mystery

I don’t have to guide you

With sounds so sweet

They carry your soul

To unknown, holy places

I don’t have to pull you

With arguments so convincing

You wake at once

Shouting Eureka! from the tower

I can just tell you

That we’re all the same

But then I think of the artist, the musician, the sage

Alive within me

And yet… more radiant in another —

The one who shines

And I think, I could just tell you

But —They might say it better

And then I remember

What was it I wanted to say?

Ah, yes —That we are all the same

All precious in God’s eyes

All living a human experience

All offering a unique perspective

Perfect, individual parts of the whole

As the artist, the musician, the sage would all agree

If only I could just tell you —That we’re all the same

That love is the key

But I can just tell you

That we’re all the same
